CasaXPS, Computer Aided Surface Analysis for X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy, is a powerful computer program that allows you to process XPS and UPS data on a PC platform. It can handle angle-resolved and depth-profiling XPS data. In December 2016, a coalition of several KU research groups, the Center for Environmentally Beneficial Catalysis, and the Department of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering purchased an academic site license for CasaXPS. The software complements the Phi 5000 VersaProbe II X-ray Photoelectron Spectrometer located in the Microscopy and Analytical Instrumentation Core Lab at KU.

If you are a KU affiliate, you can download and install CasaXPS on any computer. An unlimited number of KU users may utilize this software at any time. The required username and license number to activate the software are located in the CasaXPS EULA PDF file.

2. Unzip the files.
 
3. Obtain the administrative username and password for the computer that will run the software.
 
4. Drag the folder CasaXPSxxxx to the Programs folder in Windows XP and to the Program Files (x86) folder in Windows 7.
 
5. Open the CasaXPSxxxx folder and make a shortcut to the CasaXPS.exe file.
 
6. Drag the shortcut to the desktop.
 
7. You can now start the CasaXPS program.
 
8. Go to the “?” on the CasaXPS menu bar.
